The Seventh Sanctum Tavern & Inn
Detailed Setting Information
The central area surrounding the Seventh Sanctum Tavern is both captivating, due to the meticulous landscape grooming, and ultimately inviting, boasting a beautiful environment ringed by a lush, snow-capped forest upon the outskirts, and smudged with a glittering, frosted lake in the distance. A well trodden path marked with a ranger's notches winds from within the wild heart of the woodlands right up to the front door of the three story establishment, which is sheltered securely from the Northern winds against the rocky embrace of the mountain range, stretching as far as the eye can see in either direction.
Around the side there are stables for settling one's horses for a spell, and if you continue to the back, a strange, oasis style man-made pool of aquamarine water, which is permanently enchanted to maintain the soothing temperature of a hot spring. With winter's slow passing, a few of the exotic blossoms and trees, imported from halfway across the world, are in bloom around the tavern, though in the summer heat it is a sight that enchants even the Fair Folk. The actual building itself is reminiscent of an old, plantation styled mansion, crafted from pale wood and stone and complete with modernized matching pillars of gleaming white marble that match the structure with an architect's flare for perfection.
Within the sanctuary there are three floors. The ground floor is where one will find the well-stocked and neurotically polished bar, where the resident keep - a man dressed traditionally in simple black tones with close-clipped salt and pepper hair - is more than happy to serve. This is where one can purchase a room, a drink, or a good, home cooked meal. There are a speckling of fireplaces situated throughout the main floor, with overstuffed couches and chairs hauled up close to enjoy the warmth, but only one on the second floor. The tables are set up around an elegant, hand crafted main stage made from honey colored pine that seems to soak in the dim, warm illumination of sconces on the walls. It is located towards the back of the massive room, and is rarely without a full band, or singer of some renown or prestige.
There are two separate staircases on either side of the room leading to entirely different locations. The closest to the actual bar climbs up into the third floor, where there are a plethora of rooms available for long or short term rental at a price that seems far too kind for such a lovely establishment. The opposite stairs planted nearby a spread of tables close to the stage will bring the patron out into the loft-style second floor. One can observe the events of the lower floor from here, though it is guarded by smooth wooden rails and frame work for safety. There are two fireplaces in this upper sanctuary with comfortable furnishings scattering around them, and vibrant tapestries upon the walls. There are also a smattering of immaculate tables and chairs for the patron seeking a private audience away from prying eyes.
